Genesis 2:24 - Leave, be, joined (cleaving), becoming
What will become of your life? Maybe you started out wanting to be famous or rich.
Do you want to become a better husband or father?
The key to becoming is in the leaving, being & cleaving (sticking)
God has thoughts (plural) for you.
You are on His mind. Thoughts that He thinks (present tense)
1. The impact of leaving on what you become
Ecc 10:4 - Do not leave your post.
If a man leaves his faith, he won't become a mighty man of God.
If you leave your commitment to your marriage vows, you won't have a successful marriage.
There is a time to leave & a time not to leave.
1 Cor 13:11
Becoming a man means there are certainthings we need to leave behind.
Prov 22:6
What's some of the bad training you need to leave behind?
2. The impact of being on what we become
Be still & know that I am God.
Be filled with the Spirit.
Being in Christ. You can only get this by revelation.
Get a revelation of who we are in Christ.
It's based on Him, not me.
You have such a winning edge as a Christian.
His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
3. The impact of cleaving on what we become.
Don't cleave to stuff you should have left.
Cleave - pursue, chase hard (active)
Joined to your wife, your church, your friends
Anything you take for granted, you give the devil licence.
This will help you to become what you will become:
- Stick to those you love
- Stick to your visions & dreams
- Stick to your word
- Stick to your job
- Stick to your faith
- Stick to your marriage vows, your commitment.
