JOSHUA 11, PSALM 18:16-30, PROV 4:5,6

JOSHUA 11 - Yet again, obedience is the key.
v.9 - Joshua did as the Lord told him

v.15 - As the Lord had commanded Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did.

ANAKIM - v.21,22 (descendants of Anak)
"And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." Numbers 13:33

Joshua expelled them from the land, but they remained elsewhere (v.22)

Judges 1:20 - "They gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had directed. Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak"

Deut 9:2 - "gigantic people, descendants of the Anakites--you've heard all about them; you've heard the saying, "No one can stand up to an Anakite"

David encountered descendants of the Anakim in 2 Samuel 21:15-22.

The ANAKIM & REPHAIM are apparently descendants of the NEPHILIM. Nephilim in Hebrew means "the fallen (ones) ".

Genesis 6:1-4 (MSG) -" When the human race began to increase, with more and more daughters being born, the sons of God noticed that the daughters of men were beautiful. They looked them over and picked out wives for themselves. Then GOD said, "I'm not going to breathe life into men and women endlessly. Eventually they're going to die; from now on they can expect a life span of 120 years." This was back in the days (and also later) when there were giants in the land. The giants came from the union of the sons of God and the daughters of men. These were the mighty men of ancient lore, the famous ones. "
