JOSHUA 10, PSALM 18:1-15, PROVERBS 4:1-4

JOSHUA 10 - Joshua had compromised when he made a covenant with the Gibeonites, but he still kept his word & integrity intact by protecting them.

JOHN MAXWELL'S LAW OF THE BIG MO (momentum)
Maxwell notes that Israel didn't have any. They lost Moses, had been in the wilderness for years & stood before a mighty river & walled cities. Enter Joshua.

Maxwell's tips on how to get momentum:

  1. Obedience to God
  2. Speak of past wins under God's direction
  3. Quick wins
  4. Faith in God's promises
  5. Courage
  6. Erect memorials of God's faithfulness for remembrance

PSALM 18:1-15

God leaving Heaven & coming down to rescue His Creation from the snares of death.

Sound familiar????

God heard David's cry. God hears our prayers, how awesome is that!

PROVERBS 4:1-4 Good counsel.

This speaks to me of listening, paying attention & being teachable. It's an attitude, one that will pay dividends. Obedience (v.4) is the key also, as Joshua has been demonstrating.
