Everything & everyone has demands & expectations, including demands for attention. We are living in a fast paced world, no secret there for anyone breathing! It's all drive thru & microwave & the best stuff comes from a "long, slow cook" (not just food). I am impatient sometimes & I need to take a "slow down" moment to just re-gather & "plug in and hit reset" with God, some timeout with Him, pleasing Him, listening to Him, talking to Him.
Exodus 34:14 - " Do not worship any other god, for the LORD , whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. "
Deuteronomy 4:24 - " For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God."
